The Sempra Energy Foundation was created late 2007 as a nonprofit organization that is exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As a private non-operating foundation, the Sempra Energy Foundation is required to file form 990-PF each year to comply with the IRS.
