Foundation teams with our employees in support
of our communities:
Matching Gifts
To foster giving by employees, The Sempra
Energy Foundation funds a Matching Gifts
program for gifts made to educational institutions,
as well as to groups focused on arts and
culture. The Foundation matches employees'
gifts dollar for dollar pending verification
of the gift. Requests for matching gifts
must start with Sempra Energy employees.
Volunteer Incentive Program
The Sempra Energy Foundation also supports community involvement by employees of the Sempra Energy family of companies by recognizing their dedication of time and talent to charities through our Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP). Employees who volunteer at least 8 hours for a charity with IRS 501(c)(3) status or for a nonprofit school may request a $100 VIP grant from Sempra Energy Foundation to that charity (or school). The Foundation funds VIP grants for up to two organizations each year for every eligible employee. Requests for VIP grants must begin with Sempra Energy employees.
Season of Giving
The “Season of Giving” Volunteer Incentive Program was established to support and incentivize the volunteer activities of employees during the holiday season. The Foundation will provide one hundred, $1,000 grants to deserving 501c3 public charities or schools nominated by employees. Employees must have involvement in the organization either as a volunteer or member, and applications that have a service project or volunteer effort engaging employees as part of the grant request, will have priority.
